Export audit events
Download audit events as a CSV or JSON file to keep them beyond 14 days, and why you have to load every event on the page before exporting.
The audit log keeps events for 14 days. To keep them longer, or to work with them in a spreadsheet, export them.
- On Audit log, pick the tab and set your filters, then select Apply.
- Scroll to the bottom and select Load more events until the button disappears.
- Select Export, then Download CSV or Download JSON.
The export contains exactly the events loaded on the page, and nothing else. That’s why step 2 matters: if you skip it, you only get the first 100 events. The count above the table shows how many you have loaded, with a + when there are more.
What’s in the file
CSV opens in any spreadsheet. On the Organisation tab it has Timestamp, User, Action, Bucket, Prefix, Key, Result, and Details columns. On the Authentication tab: Timestamp, User, Action, IP Address, Success, and Details.
JSON keeps every field of every event, including user IDs and event IDs, which is better if you’re feeding it into another tool.
Neither contains passwords, storage keys, or download links.
Keep it safe
An export lists real people, file names, and IP addresses. Store it somewhere private, share it only with people who need it, and delete it when you no longer do.
A good habit if you need a longer history: export the last two weeks every other week, before the oldest events are deleted.
