Permissions are scoped to a bucket and, optionally, a folder path. ### AI agent access over MCP quickS3 is a remote MCP server. Connect Claude Code, Codex, Claude Cowork, or any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth. You authorize the agent in your browser and select which of your roles it may use; the agent gets exactly those roles' bucket and folder permissions, with the same deny-wins rules. File transfers happen directly between the agent and your storage provider; quickS3 never proxies, stores, or processes file contents. Agent actions are logged separately from human activity, access grants expire, and you can revoke them at any time. Agents never count as users. ### Audit logging Track who accessed what and when. quickS3 keeps 14 days of audit history for lightweight accountability. ### Magic link authentication Users sign in with email magic links by default, with Google OAuth available. Your data stays in your bucket. ## What quickS3 is, and what it is not ### Is quickS3 a storage system like MinIO? No. quickS3 is a hosted UI layer on top of your existing object storage. ### Is quickS3 the same product as ezS3? Yes. ezS3.net is becoming quickS3.com. It is the same product and team; we are moving to a clearer name and domain. If you followed an ezS3 link, you are in the right place. ### Does quickS3 copy or store my data? No. Your objects remain in your bucket. quickS3 connects to your storage so your team can work with it through the permissions you define. ### How do permissions work? Roles contain allow and deny rules for read, write, or both. A deny always wins across assigned roles. ### Can I limit access to one folder? Yes. You can scope access to a folder prefix such as `/logs/` or `/brand/`. ### Can AI agents use quickS3? Yes. Add quickS3 as a remote MCP server in Claude Code, Codex, Claude Cowork, or another MCP client. The agent gets only the roles you delegate and nothing more, files move directly between the agent and your storage, and every action is audited. You can revoke access at any time. ### What storage can I connect? AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, DigitalOcean Spaces, Wasabi, Azure Blob, MinIO, and other S3-compatible APIs. ### Do I need to move or change my bucket? No. Use your existing provider and bucket. ### Why not just share the AWS console or presigned URLs? Console access is too broad and hard to audit per user. Presigned URLs are one-off. quickS3 gives each person access that's scoped to what they need, persists across sessions, and gets logged. ### How long are audit logs kept? 14 days. ### How do users sign in? Email magic links by default, with Google OAuth available. ## Security and compliance quickS3 uses short-lived access URLs and activity logging for every action. Storage credentials are encrypted at rest on the server and are never sent to or stored in the browser.
